About us
The Paediatric Neurology Department at the National Institute of Neurosciences & Hospital (NINS&H) in Bangladesh has been serving the nation since its inception in 2012. As the country’s premier government-run neuroscience center, this department is dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment, and long-term care of children suffering from neurological disorders. Over the years, it has become a trusted center for managing conditions such as epilepsy, cerebral palsy, developmental delay, autism, neuromuscular disorders, and more.
Led by experienced paediatric neurologists, the department combines clinical expertise with compassion to ensure the best outcomes for young patients. It is equipped with modern diagnostic facilities like EEG, MRI, and developmental assessment tools. The department also works closely with physiotherapists, speech therapists, and psychologists to provide holistic care.
Since 2012, the Paediatric Neurology Department at NINS&H has become a beacon of hope for thousands of families across Bangladesh seeking specialized neurological care for their children..

Out Patient Department (OPD) Service
- Duration of OPD patient care (In hours per week) – 39 hours
- Number of patients attending the OPD per day – 180-200/day
- Everyday complicated and referred patients are seen by senior faculties

- 1st time gene therapy in Bangladesh in SMA(Zolgensma)
- Disease Modifying therapy in SMA(Risdiplam)
- Introduction of screening tests for neurometabolic disorders: A nationwide facility-based study for determination of prevalence of inborn errors of metabolism among high-risk neonates and children in Bangladesh.
